Aero Vodochody Won Contracts from Vietnam and Slovak

Aero Vodochody successfully established two new business deals with major international customers.
In September 2011, Aero Vodochody successfully established two new business deals with major international customers, Ministry of defence of Slovak Republic and Vietnam New Technological Appliance One Member Co., Ltd. Both contracts show a strong position of Aero Vodochody as a reliable and high qualified business and engineering partner.
The treaty with New Technological Appliance One Member Co., Ltd. was signed in the first half of September as a result of eight months of negotiations. As a part of it, officials of Vietnamese Ministry of defence and war aircraft visited Aero Vodochody in June 2011. Supply of more than three hundred spare parts for L-39 jet aircraft starts in November 2011. The agreement also contains a trip of engineers of Aero Vodochody who will accomplish an inspection and repairs necessary to extend working life of two L-39C aircrafts, install new monitoring system FAU-39 and train employees of the Vietnamese company.
The contract with Slovak Ministry of Defence was closed in the second half of September. Aero Vodochody will extend working life of airframe of L-39ZA aircrafts for Slovak army.
Both contracts renew relations with traditional business partners and confirm interest of Aero Vodochody for effective cooperation with all countries and companies operating L-39 aircrafts. This way, Aero fulfils its role of original producer who is the most qualified for maintenance and development support.

Australia to Study Mid-Life Upgrades for Hawk Aircraft

"The Government has approved the funding of A$43 million ($42.7 million) for Defence to develop options and conduct risk mitigation activities prior to Government approval at second pass, which is presently scheduled for 2013-14," Clare added.
The total cost of AIR 5438 is estimated at A$100-300 million. Government approval may be given in 2013-14.
"The precise nature and composition of the ensuing acquisition phase will be determined by the capability definition study to be conducted," it added.

Setahun kemudian, 1958 berhasil diterbangkan prototip pesawat latih dasar "Belalang 89" yang ketika diproduksi menjadi Belalang 90. Pesawat yang diproduksi sebanyak lima unit ini dipergunakan untuk mendidik calon penerbang di Akademi Angkatan Udara dan Pusat Penerbangan Angkatan Darat. Namun awalnya dimulai pekerjaan modifikasi pesawat Piper L-4J agar dapat digunakan sebagai pesawat latih dasar, yang kemudian lebih dikenal sebagai NU-85 Belalang (Grasshopper). Apabila kegiatan modifikasi ini mampu menghasilkan pesawat yang lebih baik dari pesawat aslinya, maka semua pesawat Piper L-4J akan dimodifikasi menjadi NU-85 Belalang.

Aero L-159B Lead-In Fighter Training
L159B, pesawat latih berkursi ganda (pengembangan L159A) didesain sebagai pesawat latih lanjut (Advanced and Operational/Lead-In Fighter Training).
L159B dapat dikonfigurasi sesuai spesifikasi kebutuhan negara pemesan. Selain mengadopsi peran pesawat latih jet, pesawat ini dapat diubah fungsi sebagai pesawat tempur ringan, termasuk membawa rudal darat-udara dan udara-udara, juga melakukan misi-misi lain, seperti : kombatan, patroli udara dan intai/ mata-mata.
Spesifikasi Teknis
L-159B menganut konfiguraasi sistem airframe yang sama dengan L159A. Selain itu radar dan sensor di hidung pesawat juga telah diperbaiki serta dimungkinkan untuk tambahan sensor persenjataan sesuai keinginan pemesan.
Pada kokpit Aero L-159B juga dilengkapi dengan HUD (Head-Up Display), MFCD (Multi-Function Colour Displays) dan kontrol kendali pesawat HOTAS (Hands-On-Throttle-And-Stick) sama seperti pesawat tempur modern.
Tak ketinggalan perangkat avionik yang terintegrasi secara komputerisasi (MIL-STD-1553 databus). Untuk perangkat navigasi Aero menggunakan sistem navigasi terbaru berupa Ring Laser Gyro Based, Inertial Navigation System (INS) dan Global Positioning System (GPS).
Perangkat lainnya seperti Flight-Recorder, Data Input Program, Video-Audio Recorder serta berbagai sistem perlindungan-pesawat (flare/ chaff) dan parameter mesin pesawat.
Perangkat tambahan juga tersedia : On-Board Oxygen Generating System (OBOGS), optional On-Board Inert Gas Generating System (OBIGGS) dan Auxiliary Power Unit (APU) untuk operasional pesawat dengan dukungan power minimal.

Ada 7 cantelan (pylon) pada L-159B, masing-masing 3 disayap dan 1 di badan pesawat. Selain itu juga pesawat ini mampu lepas landan dan mendarat dari semi-prepared airfields.
L-159B mengaplikasi standar persenjataan NATO, termasuk didalamnya rudal udara-udara dan rudal udara-permukaan. L-159B juga dimungkinkan dapat mengaplikasi persenjataan terbaru, seperti special pods untuk ECM, reconnaissance, night navigation dan targeting.
