Singapore - ST Engineering's US subsidiary, VT Miltope, today announced that it has teamed with General Dynamics C4 Systems on the Common Hardware Systems-4 (CHS-4) programme. General Dynamics C4 Systems was recently awarded the five-year Indefinite Delivery Indefinite Quantity (IDIQ) contract with a potential value of US$3.7b if all options are exercised by the Army Contracting Command-Aberdeen Proving Ground (ACC-APG). VT Miltope has the potential to earn up to US$250m (about S$323.7m) over the life of this contract.

It will provide three military rugged products that will meet V2 and V3 CHS-4 environmental and Electromagnetic Interferences (EMI) requirements. These products are the Enhanced / Rugged Handheld Terminal Unit, Rugged Portable Digital Assistant, and Notebook Computer Unit.

"VT Miltope is proud to team with General Dynamics, a leading integrator of secure communication and information systems and technology, on this important IDIQ programme. We are committed to providing the Army soldier with rugged, reliable computers that meet their operational needs." ~ Julie A. BRIGGS, President and CEO, VT Miltope.

The IDIQ contract allows the US Army the flexibility to acquire items defined in the contract, within stated limits, over the five-year period. The contract is not expected to have any material impact on the consolidated net tangible assets per share and earnings per share of ST Engineering for the current financial year.
